Day 2 - 80m Classic (Subject to venue permission)

Wendover Woods are to the south east of the B4009 between Wendover and Tring.
From Wendover, take the B4009 towards Tring, take the right hand turn approximately 1 mile north of RAF Halton, signposted Wendover Woods and St Leonards. The main entrance to the woods is found on the right.
From the A41, take the Wendover exit (also signed Dunstable) and take the B4009 towards Aston Clinton. Take the first left towards Wendover. After approx 1/2 mile, take a left signposted Wendover Woods and St Leonards. The main entrance to the woods is found on the right.
Local buses will take you as far as Halton and the Chiltern Line runs a regular service to Wendover from Marylebone. For details of public transport visit http://www.transportdirect.info
Parking:
The intention is to park in the main car park of Wendover Woods

Don't arrive too early - unless you want to take part in the parkrun - the car park may be very busy.

There will a parking fee - make sure you pay, there are patrols.
Terrain:
Typical Chiltern woodlands with steep slopes and generally runnable beech and pine forest blocks, with a well-developed path network.
Note that the tarmac road through the woods which the general public use is regarded as out of bounds. It is not marked on the map as a ‘forbidden route’ for clarity but is out of bounds to orienteers. It can only to be crossed at right angles;
Competitors must not run along the road or its verge, say within 3m.
Wendover Woods contains a 'Go Ape' Zip Wire area. Go Ape will be open during our event, and the relevant areas are marked out of bounds on the map, but competitors should be aware that there are low wires in these areas.
General:
Wendover Woods are extensively used by the public for walking, cycling and horse riding. Please be courteous towards other users and look out for bicycles and horse riders especially as you emerge onto paths and tracks.

All maps will be overprinted with an Emergency Number which can be used on the day to contact the Organiser for medical emergencies.

About <tbc> Km Walk from assembly to start. All competitors to gather at assembly for registration and then walk to the start en masse.
There will be a clothing transfer back from the start to the finish. Black polythene bags will be provided if required. Please do not bring excessive items to the start as there is only one person to transport it via a car to the finish.

There will be 5 3.5Mhz transmitters in the wood. A number of which will have to be found depending on age class.
There will also be a home beacon and finish.

There are toilets located at the main visitor centre/cafe near to the car park
Results:
Results will be displayed near the Registration tent and will be posted on the
RSGB ARDF website (http://www.nationalradiocentre.co.uk/ardf) shortly after the event.
